The dual mission of the Ensamble Barroco de Bogotá is grounded in presenting 17th- and 18th-century European art music to Colombia—the foundation of what we call “classical music”—performed at an international level of excellence using period-informed performance practice. At the same time, it aims to continue the educational and financial assistance program established in 2020. A pioneer in our field, this initiative trains young musicians of limited financial means in the performance practices of the repertoire the Ensemble seeks to promote.

We believe that in Colombia—a nation severely impacted by violence, unemployment, and a lack of opportunities for societal progress regarding equality and individual rights—creating new options within music and the arts will contribute significantly to the gradual personal and artistic development of our youth.

As a result of the sustained efforts of our educational mission, several beneficiaries have already managed to expand their professional careers both nationally and internationally.
