Our mission is to support scientific research and solidarity work by awarding the Alejandro Ángel Escobar National Prizes in Sciences and Solidarity, as well as granting the Colombia Biodiversa scholarships. We distinguish ourselves through seven decades of uninterrupted history that have cemented the prestige and legitimacy of our awards; complete autonomy from political interests; rigorous independent peer review; and a self-nomination access model that expands opportunities and reduces bias. Compounding this is our commitment to fostering new talent and maintaining ethical, sustainable management of our legacy and resources, ensuring the continuity and long-term impact of our work.
