Community Development and Livelihoods
Fundación Comparte Por Una Vida Colombia
The mission of Fundación Comparte is to help close the inequality gaps affecting migrant and host communities by strengthening educational institutions as protective environments, through our “Stay in School” model.
Fundación Comparte was founded in 2018 and is led by two Venezuelan migrant women who have experienced the challenges of human mobility firsthand. For this reason, the organization identifies as a Refugee-Led Organization (RLO): an organization led by people with direct experience of mobility, who design and carry out solutions aligned with the real needs of migrant and refugee populations. This approach ensures relevance, representation, and a deep understanding of the contexts in which we work.
Comparte also sees itself as a citizen incubator. Beyond immediate assistance, it supports families, communities, and educational institutions in building capacities, strengthening leadership, fostering a sense of belonging, and exercising full citizenship—especially in contexts of exclusion.
Its intervention model is based on recognizing people’s potential, supporting sustained processes over time, activating networks and strategic alliances, and promoting shared responsibility and autonomy. Impact is measured not only by immediate results, but by the ability of communities and institutions to sustain and replicate change without depending on external intervention.
We bring balance to the lives of children, young people, and their families; we shape citizens with the capacity for agency; and we influence the public agenda and decision-makers.
