Education and Human Development
Fundación Global Humanitaria
Fundación Global Humanitaria is an NGO operating in Colombia since 1998 to promote and defend the rights of Afro-Colombian children, with a particular focus on their right to a quality education that creates better opportunities for development and breaks the cycle of poverty and inequality surrounding them.
Through programs in education, comprehensive healthcare, and socio-emotional development, we empower young boys and girls to build academic and social skills aligned with a life project framework. Global Humanitaria focuses its work on promoting fundamental rights, child protection, inclusion, and social development through initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its impact spans key areas including Quality Education (SDG 4), Zero Hunger and Good Health (SDGs 2 & 3), Socio-Emotional Growth and Decent Work (SDGs 5 & 8), and Strategic Partnerships (SDG 17).
Our programs and actions are tailored to respect the culture, gender, vulnerability, and social conditions of the Afro-Colombian children we serve, ensuring that our support remains inclusive, equitable, and relevant.
To fulfill its mission, Global Humanitaria mobilizes resources by securing funding from donors, corporations, and international agencies to sustain its initiatives. It also fosters inter-institutional partnerships with local governments, the Ministry of Education, and communities to achieve large-scale impact.
Driven by evaluation and transparency, we publish regular reports and outcomes to ensure trust and long-term sustainability.
“We promote children’s literacy as a transformative tool to prevent school dropout and child recruitment.”
